How to investigate a confusion environment
When the information space feels chaotic, do not try to solve every claim at once.
Separate layers.
What is directly observed?
Video, document, timestamp, event, measurement.
What is interpretation?
Who caused it, why it happened, what it means.
Which claims share the same source?
Ten reposts may be one source.
Which claims contradict each other?
Do not merge incompatible explanations into one vague suspicion.
What information would change the conclusion?
This restores structure.
The goal is to reduce the number of active claims.
The most important defense is epistemic patience
Confusion creates pressure to choose.
Pick a side.
Choose a story.
Declare certainty.
But sometimes the strongest position is:
I do not know yet.
That sentence is not weakness.
It is resistance to forced interpretation.
A healthy evidence system can tolerate temporary uncertainty without collapsing into nihilism.
Not knowing one thing does not mean nothing can be known.
That distinction protects both openness and skepticism.

Disinformation does not always need to convince you of one false story.
